THE INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2010 – BOLLYWOOD & BEYOND (IFF 2010) is running a short film and video competition. The amazing prizes could be life changing for aspiring filmmakers, Bollywood fans and travel enthusiasts alike! We will have three winners – one from India (& Beyond) and one from Australia and one from NZ and approximately 10 shortlisted entries.

WALK THE RED CARPET! BEST SHORT FILM AWARD…

The three winning films will be awarded IFF2010’s Best Short Film award to be presented in Melbourne at IFF2010’s Gala Awards Night in March 2010.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL…

Our winner from India & Beyond will receive a return economy air ticket from Mumbai to Melbourne so they attend the Gala Awards night.

Our winner from Australia will receive a return economy ticket from Melbourne/Sydney to Mumbai. Dates to be negotiated.

Our winner from New Zealand will receive a return economy ticket from Auckland to Mumbai. Dates to be negotiated.

Please note: No other travel & flight expenses will be provided.

GREAT EXPOSURE FOR YOUR FILM…

The winning and shortlisted films will be screened at the festival in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Auckland.

The winning films will also be screened on both Australia and India’s World Movies television channel and in New Zealand on Triangle TV! 

 

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:

The Indian Film Festival 2010 – Bollywood and Beyond has a fantastic program of films this year from the best of Bollywood’s recent blockbusters. Cinema that will have you laughing and dancing in your seats, from seductive romantic comedies to edge-of-your-seat thrillers, from thought-provoking social dramas to fascinating documentaries. There will be Australian premieres and prize-winning short films made by you - from Australia, New Zealand and India.

Kicking off at Cinema Nova Melbourne in March 2010 with a Gala Opening attended by a host of Bollywood stars and filmmakers, the 2010 festival will screen in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland, offering a wonderful opportunity to see the diversity of filmmaking, scope of production and sheer filmic entertainment from one of the most prolific film industries in the world.

 

DEADLINES:

 ENTRIES FROM AUSTRALIA must be received by IFF 2010 by Saturday 30th January 2010 at 23:59 hrs Australia EST.

ENTRIES FROM INDIA AND ELSEWHERE must be received by IFF 2010 by Saturday 30th January 2010 at 23:59 hrs India IST.

ENTRIES FROM New Zealand must be received by IFF 2010 by Sunday 28th February 2010 at 23:59 hrs New Zealand ST.

 

SUBMISSON GUIDELINES:

 Short Film & Videos must:

  • Have SOME link to India. Either the film should have some content related to India, Indians or Indian culture (a shot of a boy with a samosa will do!) OR be entered by the film’s Indian/ Indian-Australasian writer, director or producer.

  • Be less than 10 minutes in duration

  • The content can be shot on any format

  • For judging purposes, the content can be either uploaded to YouTube with a corresponding link being forwarded to us with completed entry form OR you can submit it as a DVD. Please email us at competitions@iff2010.com for our postal address if you wish to submit a DVD.

  • MINIMUM QUALITY STANDARDS: Films & Videos can be shot on any format, however, shortlisted material will be required to be screened in a cinema environment, so, if your thinking of entering, please email us at competitions@iff2010.com to find out more

  • Be likely to attract a classification rating of G, PG or M.

Entrants must fulfill and be able to substantiate the below:

  •  Own the rights to the films/ videos entered or have and submit to IFF written permission from the copyright owner to allow IFF and Mind Blowing Films unlimited use of the film/ video. This is particularly relevant in the case of students who create their image as part of their course-work and whose work may therefore be owned by their educational institution.

Entries must be accompanied by:

  •  A signed completed entry form (available at the top of this page)

  •  At least one production still image to be used for promotional purposes

  •  A brief synopsis appropriate for use in the festival program

 

HANDLING FEE:

There is no entrance fee for the competition however, in the event of material requiring postage etc. these costs will be attributed to the entrant.

 Detailed 'Terms & Conditions' will be made available on this page and should be read and understood prior to participation in the competition. Submission will be regarded as an acknowledgement to the guidelines & terms.
